She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph J Schmidt and Anne E Schmidt (Heit); and her brother Ronald J Schmidt. She is survived by: her husband Edward Race Johnstown of Colorado; her daughters, Kelly Scudder Berthoud (Jason) of Colorado and Shawn Race Johnstown of Colorado; and her grandchildren, Tyce Morgan (Ellie), Slater Morgan, Race Morgan, Aidan Race, Taner Scudder and Jayce Scudder.

In place of cards and flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Green Beret Foundation (greenberetfoundation.org) in memory of Cindy Race.
