He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Dechant and Josephine Freiberger; his sister JoAnn; his nephews, Keith and Daniel; and his granddaughter Kylee Jo.
He is survived by: his wife Donna; his children, Valerie Zimbelman (Jason) of Hudson, Jolene Dahlgren (David) of Brighton, LeAnn Nelson (Rick) of Keenesburg and Scott Dechant (Danielle) of Keenesburg; his grandchildren, Austin, Brennan, Colton Zimbelman, Maddox, Daxton Dechant, Taylor, Dillon, Ally, Jackson Dahlgren, Taea, Tanner and Taden Nelson; and his siblings, David Dechant (Carmen) and Pam (Brett).
