He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion W. Vancil and Selena A. Vancil (Lansing). He is survived by: his wife Sharon; and his children, Gary L. Vancil (Lois) of Westminster, Colorado and Katherine L. Haase (Steve) of Gunnison, Colorado. He is also survived by four grandsons; four granddaughters; three brothers; and four sisters.

In lieu of flowers, tax-deductible donations can be made in Charles' name to the Arkansas Valley Ambulance District (AVAD), in care of Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home in Salida, CO.
