He is survived by: his wife Myrna Olson; his sister Barbara; and his children, Jim Ebert, Dr. Christine Ebert-Santos, Fred Ebert, Ambassador Catherine Ebert-Gray, Bob Ebert and Susan Ebert-Stone. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
