He was predeceased by: his grandmother Darlene Stitt; his aunt Linda Stitt; his uncle Steve Shum; and his grandparents, Elvin and Bess Shum.

He is survived by: his parents, Larry Shum and Kathy Shum of Marysville, KS; his sister Karmen Genrich (Jeremy) of Leawood, KS; his nieces, Ella and Lily; his nephew Kyler Genrich of Leawood, KS; and his pet Bogey.
