He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Andreas Gierscher and Katharina Gierscher (Feifer); his wife Sophie; his son John Gierscher (Barbara) of Centennial; and his nieces, Katie Bloos, Sara Orendi of Kitchner and Ontario. He was also cherished by his siblings, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
