He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Colgate and Elizabeth Colgate (Bice). He is survived by: his wife Melissa Colgate (Spell); his children, Angie Shoemaker (Jeff), Susie Griffin and John Colgate (Ashley); the mother of his children Janie Colgate; and his siblings, Barbie Rademacher (Chuck) and Michael Colgate (Barbara). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
