She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred E "Fritz" Kurtz and Elta L. Kurtz (Kretsinger); her spouse Florence Newton; her son Douglas; her granddaughter Mary Kay Ross; and her siblings, Curtis, Fred, William, Kendall Kurtz, Elta Woodard and Jo Ann Meyer.
She is survived by: her daughter Sherry; her grandchildren, Dale, Shand Ross, Becky Brindle (Ross), Jason and Damon Smith; and her siblings, Wallace Kurtz of Rocky Ford, CO and Leslie Ferris of Boynton Beach, FL.. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
