He was predeceased by : his parents, Delores Griego and Isabel Griego (Efren); his spouse Efren Lagunas; his son Abel Gilbert Griego, Jr.; and his siblings, Andrew, Daniel, Ernie, Ben, Rosalie, Dora, Virginia and Esther.

He is survived by : his sons, Jerry Griego (Gina), Will Griego (Valerie) and Joe Lagunas (Isabel); his sibling Liva; and his niece Beatrice Castilleja. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
