Monique Peterson-Bown Obituary
Monique "Moni" Rae Peterson-Bown, age 57, of Grand Junction, Colorado, joined her Lord and Savior on November 30, 2021. She was born on August 15, 1964, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Saundra J. Stanchfield and Albin A. Peterson. She spent her childhood in Long Lake, Minnesota, graduating from Orono High School in 1982, she then attended The Oak Hills Bible Institute.
She relocated to Aspen, Colorado, in 1989, where she met and married the love of her life William A. Bown in Starwood, Colorado, on September 9, 1989. She devoted her life to her family and raising her children with the Word of God. She lived out her unwavering faith, showing Jesus' love to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was a lifelong learner who earned an Associate of Arts and an Associate of Science from Casper College in Wyoming. She earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Wyoming. She was initiated into Pi Alpha Alpha, Phi Theta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi. She has been a resident of Grand Junction, Colorado, since 2015 and spent a decade of her life within Mesa County.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, William Bown, their children Micah (Joseph) Silver, Nathanael Bown, Jordan Bown, and Daniel (Ryan) Bown Jones; her two grandbabies Madeline and Arabella Silver; her fur baby Chester the Chihuahua; her father Albin (Ralene) Peterson; siblings Vivianne (Tim) Oberg, Desiree (Phil) Falcinelli, Nannette (Paul) Dearing, Nicolle (Andy) Pearson, Bobby (Sandy) Hanson, Tiffany (Melvin) Bracco, and many other cherished relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Saundra Stanchfield, and the family is comforted to know they are together again in Heaven. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Sister, Daughter, and Friend. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Fellowship Church, 765 24 Road, Grand Junction, CO, 81505.
