With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Sullivan (Grand Junction, Colorado), born in Anaconda, Montana, who passed away on March 7, 2021 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Sullivan and John P. Sullivan; and his brother Bobby Joe. He is survived by: his sister Debi; his sons, Nick and Steve (Barbara) of Germany; his stepdaughter Pam (Alan); and his grandchildren, Matilda, Isabel, Joseph and Nicklas.

“John worked with me in IT at the Institute of Technology during the 1970's. We used to play chess every lunch time. We were pretty evenly matched, so our games sometimes lasted way longer than they ought. When we both took up teaching we still met up for curry lunches. Those were turbulent years for John, both personally and professionally. We were good mates, and I missed his company when he returned to the US, but I'm glad he finally found a woman he loved in a place he loved.”
