He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Hoppe and Etta Hoppe; his wife Marilyn Moses; his children, Debra Hoeckendorf and Edward Hoppe; and his siblings, Victor Hoppe, Frankie Lee Hoppe, Virginia Newbold, Mary Cushing, Wilma McConnel, Lois Shaneaman, Patricia Martinez and June Hoppe.

He is survived by: his children, Paula (JR Donaldson), Mark (Cindy Hoppe), Twilla (Jeff Hahn), Brenda Hoppe and John (Janis Hoppe); and his sisters, Loretta Medina of Nebraska, Vicki Hrasky of Nebraska, Peggy Meyers of Nebraska and Susan Hunt of Florida. He is also survived by Twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews.
