James Lynn Simonson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Lynn Simonson (Grand Junction, Colorado), born in Sioux City, Iowa, who passed away on January 3, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll Simonson and Myrtle Simonson (Haeussler); his former wife Karen Simonson (Moffitt); his son Jon; and his brother Charles.

He is survived by: his wife Glenda Simonson (Strain Banks); his children, Judith (Rick) and Jean (Wayne); his stepchildren, Laree (Randy), Scott (Audrey) and Michael (Betsy); his grandchildren, Cody (Kaitlin), Caryn (Josh), Alex, Ryan, Molly (Kaesey), Matt (Jennifer) and Isaac; and his great grandchildren, Camden, Kendall, James and Robert. He is also survived by his beautiful children and grandchildren.

For that reason, in lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you make a donation in Jim's name to the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute Foundation, located at 1635 Aurora Ct, Aurora, CO 80045.
