We are sad to announce that on June 11, 2023, at the age of 69, Avant Ramsey (Golden, Colorado), born in Chicago, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his sons, Avant Douglas (Val) and Michael (Caitlin); his grandchildren, Iommi and Zahn; his siblings, Joyce and Derrick; his niece Shanna (Shannon); his great-niece Shakina (Patrick); and also Zylan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“I always looked forward to seeing Avant at work, I took over his route at UPS. Everyone loved him, and I had to try to stand up to the quality of excellence Avant was. He was the type of brother I had always wished for. He would always tell me about his sons, and when I finally got married and had my own sons, he was SO happy for me.”

“Mr. Ramsey was one of the coolest men I've been around, always friendly, funny and never inconsistent with his treatment of others. Fond memories of him coming home from his job at UPS and always trading jokes with the kids when we visited the Ramsey's home!
