He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Cortland McCarthy Sr. and Wilma Rebecca Jones McCarthy; his wife Lorraine Robison McCarthy; his children, Dennis McCarthy (Cherie McCarthy), Mark Daniel McCarthy (Satomi McCarthy), Kelly Ivie (James Ivie) and Laura Kandare (Greg Kandare); and his sister Marlene Murdock. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
