Ronald Bond Obituary

Ronald James Bond, on May 28th, 2020 was diagnosed with a rare cancer. After a short courageous battle he passed away on July 13th, 2020.

Born September 29, 1956 in Enid, Oklahoma. He was the 5th son of Floyd and Ruby Bond.

Ron attended Fruita Monument High School in Fruita, Colorado.

After high school Ron went to the minor leagues and played for the Denver Bears. Shortly thereafter playing baseball, Ron enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. Upon arrival, the Navy discovered he suffered from medical conditions that would hinder his service. He would pursue a career in construction and would find his niche in the Oil and Gas Industry, rising to the top as a respected self-taught Engineer and International Manager.

Ron met his first wife Barbara. They married in the winter 1980-81. Together they parented two daughters. Amy born September 3rd, 1982. Jinny, born June 25th, 1986. Ron relocated his family back to Fruita to fulfill Barbara's dying wish to be back home near family in 1994.

Ron and Laurie met in Fruita, Colorado when she was visting family. June 8th, 1996 Ron and Laurie Bond were married uniting their families as one. Laurie, brought to their union a daughter Calah and a son Tristian Beck. January 4th, 2002 Laurie adopted Jinny Bond and Jinny in honor legally changed here first name to Jiana. Ron and Laurie would spend the next 24 years by each other's side in sickness and in health.

Ron was outgoing, friendly, and a Fruita fixture. He was a man of vision with strong direction, drive and character. Weathering the storm of life persevering through the hardships with enthusiasm and confidence that failure wasn't an option. Virtue held strong within his character. Ron was the approachable type of person that never met a stranger.

Baseball was a huge part of Ron's life. Either chasing the big dream, coaching kids, or umpiring for the local little league. Later in life, Ron would find his new passion of golf. His lifetime low with a handicap of 3.1. Ron was a fisherman. He loved taking his boat 'Waisted Wages' out on the water from the shores of Lake Powell, Blue Mesa, to the deep sea. Ron was also an avid hunter until the day he was chased by a bear.

Ron was preceded in death by Barbara Ann Heistman, Ruby and Floyd Bond, and his two brothers, Robert and Larry Bond.

He is survived by his two brothers, Terry Bond and Glenn Bond, his devoted wife, Laurie Bond, their four children, Amy McCoy (Shane) grandson Robert Shifflett 18. Calah Egan 34 (Brian) grandson Callan 6, granddaughter Cadence 4. Jiana Fish 34 (Mack) granddaughter TyleeMae 1. Son Tristan Beck 28.
Memorial Services will held outside Monday, July 20th, 2020 at 9 a.m. at the Adobe Creek National Golf Course, 876 18 1/2 Rd, Fruita, CO 81521. Please dress in either golf or fishing attire for the celebration of life. Provided seating is limited, please bring your own lawn chair. (Masks are requested).

A breakfast reception will be served on site after the conclusion of services.

In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations for a memorial bench to be placed at Adobe Creek Golf Course. A Gofundme account has been set up at https: //http://www.gofundme.com.

Services have been entrusted to Browns Cremation and Funeral Services.
