She was predeceased by: her parents, Milo Sullenberger (Tom) and Mary Secrest Sullenberger; her brothers, William Bryan and Ulysses Grant Sullenberger; and her sons, David, William (Bill) and James Hyson.

She is survived by: her husband William F. Hyson, Jr. (Bill); her daughters, Irene Higgins (Glen) and Margaret Hyson; her grandchildren, Lara Taylor, James Taylor (Deanna), Amanda Rollin (Jeremey), Zachary Taylor (Sarah), Glen Higgins III and Emily Higgins; and her great grandchildren, Toby, Isaac, Arabella Rollin, Zachariah Taylor, Cheyenne and Zachary.
