He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Lewis and Rosemary Lewis; and his wife Gerda Lewis. He is survived by: his children, Patricia, Linda, Michael, Sandra, Karen, Mark and Robert. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
