He was predeceased by: his parents, Evelyn Simmonds (Drew) and Joseph Simmonds; and his son Daniel Simmonds. He is survived by: his wife Lorna; his children, Zane Jr. and Charlene Holbeck (Randy) of Fort Morgan; his aunt Daniece Drew of Fort Morgan; and his sister Pat Gawith of Neb. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
