She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald D. Dempster and Marie Dempster of Norfolk; her sister Carolyn Mattson of Malin; her brother-in-law Jerry Kielty of Norfolk; her brother William Dempster of Fort Morgan; and her grandson Zachary Wohl.

She is survived by: her husband Gary L. Smith of Neligh, Nebraska.; her children, Daniel Lee, Sheila Kleensang (Tim) of Fort Morgan and Marla Ronk (Tom) of Crete, Nebraska.; her grandchildren, Russell Kleensang (Renee) of Fort Morgan, Cassie Greene (Tyler) of Fort Morgan, Amber Frew (Matt), Rachael Wohl (Josh) of Crete, Steven Smith of North Adams and Emily Woods (Bryan) of Eaton, Colorado.; her siblings, Donna Kielty of Norfolk and Donald Dempster (Karen) of Idaho; and her uncle Herb Bennett of Florida. She is also survived by many friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
