He is survived by: his wife Alcadia; his sons, Roberto Barrera (Esperanza), Gilberto Barrera Jr. (Diana), Hector Barrera, Rudy Barrera (Araceli) and Juanio Barrera; and his brother Luis Barrera of Texas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
