She was predeceased by: her parents, Sherman Hoar and Lydia Hoar (Hommon); her siblings, George and Vernice; and her parents-in-law, Earl and Velma Schafer.
She is survived by: her husband Darrel Schafer of Ft. Collins; her children, Pam Bessey (Bert) of Loveland and Randy Schafer (Jennifer) of Melbeta, NE; and her grandchildren, Galen Bessey (Brenda), Todd Bessey (Chris Viegut), Phillip Bessey (Christy Smith), Stephanie Schafer (Lanny Hanks), Alexis Moore (Shane), Lindsey Schroeder (John) and Danielle Madden (Jeremy). She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind.
