We bid farewell to Pieter Gerrit Aukema (Fort Collins, Colorado), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 19, 2025 at the age of 88. Pieter Gerrit touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. In the vast expanse of eternity, Pieter Gerrit shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Pieter Gerrit farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Minke Aukema and Harmen Aukema; and his daughter Alissa. He is survived by: his wife MaryPat; his pet Joy; his former wife Susan; his friend Arthur Swanson; and also, Jeanne and David. He is also survived by his daughters and step-daughter; many grandchildren and their spouses; great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Foothills Unitarian Church (1815 Yorktown Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80526).
