It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kent Earl Sutherland (Fort Collins, Colorado), born in Ida Grove, Iowa, who passed away on January 16, 2024, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Sutherland and Deva Sutherland (Behrends). He is survived by: his wife Brenda Carns; his sons, Joshua (Sara) and Will (Lindsey); his grandchildren, Jacob, Cora, Wesley and Owen; his stepson Byron Mueller (Jennifer); his stepgrandchildren, Callie, Ben and Matt; his brother Keith Sutherland (Patricia); his nieces, Ashley and Elizabeth; and his great-niece Norah. He is also survived by first cousins, and many good friends.

Kent is a past member of the Ft. Collins Country Club and during the pandemic became a regular at Mountain Vista Golf Club where he played golf almost every afternoon year-round due to the mild winters in Fort Collins.

“I first met Kent in the late 70's when he married into the Artzer ranching Family north of New Raymer, CO whom were friends ,and we have been close Friends since, he just did my Will , we shared a birthday, and recognized each other yearly, but usually only saw one another at weddings and funerals, sadly i may not make it to his memorial tomorrow as we just were notified today. Read one obituary, learned things of him I never knew,like a walk on basketball player at Kansas, I miss him & always.”
