He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Birkhofer and Helen Zesiger Birkhofer. He is survived by: his spouse Pat Peterson; and his children, Julia Juvan (Russ), Brian Birkhofer, Lisa Birkhofer, Rebecca Kaiser and Brett Birkhofer (Heather). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family asks that any memorials to Pete be made in the form of donations to the general scholarship fund at Colorado State University, Pathways Hospice or other charitable organization of your choice.
