He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Richard and Jessie Mae; and his siblings, Ted, Jerry, Jesse Richard (JR), Helen Stephens and Patsy Hackney.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn; his children, James (Leslie), Jeffrey (LeAnn), Jennifer Browning (Craig) and Joni (John); his grandchildren, Nicholas (Chelsey), Jamie, Emily, Sean, Madison, Samuel (Emily), Autumn and Angelina; his great grandchildren, Emma, Kori and Gemma; and his siblings, Connie Coonrod and Paul Anderson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
