Allan Ernest Sitterson Jr. Obituary
Allan E. Sitterson, Jr. (a/k/a Allan Goodwin, professional comedian) of Colorado Springs, CO, and long-time resident of the Washington DC metro area, passed away at home Saturday, April 13, 2024 of a cardiac event.
Allan was born in 1966 to Allan E. Sitterson, Sr. and Sheila Martin Sitterson in Shields, IL. After graduating in 1984 from Park View High School, Sterling, VA, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served at Naval Air Station, Point Mugu, CA as a radar technician. After completing his military service, Allan held technical support positions with several IT organizations in the Washington DC area, progressing to a software developer role with Oracle Corporation's APEX Team in Reston, VA, where he worked for the last 22 years. Since 1988, Allan pursued his true passion as a stand-up comedian and progressed to headlining shows around the U.S., including his own Dry Bar Comedy Special. Allan truly loved to make people laugh, spend time with his comedy colleagues, and felt blessed to share the comedy stage with numerous A-list comedians.
Allan is survived by his wife, Trish Sitterson, and son Taylor Sitterson, all of Colorado Springs; sisters Meg Sitterson of Queensland, Australia, Shelagh Sitterson of Arlington, VA, and Jean Haynes of Midlothian, VA. Allan was predeceased by his father, Allan Sitterson, Sr. of Leesburg, VA and his mother Sheila Martin Berry of Richmond, VA.
Allan will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs. Two Celebration of Life memorial services will be held, the first in Colorado Springs on Sunday, April 28, the second on Sunday, May 12, in Reston, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Springs Rescue Mission of Colorado Springs as Allan felt strongly about helping those in serious need in the Colorado Springs community.
