Dennis R. Dunbar, 68, of Evans, passed away December 24, 2020. Dennis was born December 23, 1952 in Denver, CO to Roger and Helen Crum Dunbar and raised in Arvada.
He married Debbie Simons February 16, 1974 in Northglenn, CO and they had two children, Bryan and Brad. Dennis and his family moved to Evans in 1978. He served many roles in retail management, and retired as a cashier at the Westlake King Soopers in 2018.
Dennis was also an umpire for Little League and softball. He enjoyed bowling, golf, cruises and travel, spending time with family and friends, reading scripture, and watching Hallmark movies. Dennis was a longtime member of Generations Church and was an avid member of their Bible study groups.
Dennis is survived by his ex-wife Debbie of Evans, son Bryan (Kristi) Dunbar and their daughter Taylor of Evans, CO, and son Brad (Amanda) Dunbar and their son Aiden of Windsor, CO. He is also survived by his sister Donna (Robert) Montgomery of Arvada, CO, brother David (Patricia) Dunbar of Aurora, CO, brother Daniel (Karen) Dunbar of Loveland, CO, and mother-in-law Betty Simons of Evans, CO. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Brennen Chambers-Dunbar, and father-in-law Robert Simons.
Visitation will be Friday, January 1, 2021 at Stoddard Funeral Home from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, with a funeral service Saturday, January 2, at Generations Church at 11:30 with a visitation an hour before the service. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. There will be a reception at a later date when the weather is better.
