He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gerhard Velthoen and Marie Velthoen (Weertman); his brothers, Gerritt and John; his wife Frances; his daughters, Susan Mahaffey (Jeff) and Becky Velthoen; and his grandsons, Kris and Cullen Mahaffey. He was also cherished by two great-grandchildren.
