Ronnie Merle Hagar Obituary
With great sadness, we announce the death of Ronnie Merle Hagar (Englewood, Colorado), who passed away on May 4, 2021, at the age of 77. Born on February 15, 1944, in Dora, NM to Alvin and Nona Hagar, he grew up on the family farm idolizing professional baseball players and his older brother, Bill. He leaves behind a loving family, good friends, and was well-known as simply "that nice, friendly guy".
Ronn was an avid sports fan with youthful dreams of being a major league pitcher. After an injury in military training, he turned to a successful career in banking and finance that took him all across the Southwest. He loved a good game of dominoes, walking his dogs, talking sports, sitting on his deck with a view of the mountains, collecting ball caps, and winning office betting pools.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Olson, and his three children: Cassandra Hagar, U.S. diplomat; Trenton Hagar, professor of linguistics; and Alana Hagar, a soon-to-be CU art student.
Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
