She is survived by: her husband Gary; her daughters, Jennifer and Amy; her grandchildren, Avery, Audrey, Maximilian and Greta; and her siblings, John, Linda and Doug.
After stepping down from the school board in 2005, Mary was appointed to the Englewood Education Foundation board, which she chaired for several years. As part of her foundation board duties, she helped select scholarship recipients among students who were low-income and experiencing other hardships and played a leading role in organizing the Foundation's annual fundraiser.
