He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Schmidt and Kate Schmidt; his brothers, Alan and Donavon Schmidt; and his granddaughter Aubrey Mach.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Schmidt; his children, Janelle Mach, Jon Schmidt of Elizabeth and Robert Schmidt of Coeurd'Alene; his brother Vernon Schmidt of Peyton Colorado; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Jared, Jaimie, Brandon, Ashleigh, Hanna, Sam and Macy; and his great grandchildren, Chase, Holly, Reid, Dawson, Eliah, Micah, Logan, Piper and Milo.
