He was predeceased by: his parents, Orval James Burd and Kathryn Joann Burd (Waldron). He is survived by: his daughter Lisa Simpson; his wife Karen D. Burd; his son Jacob "Jake" Simpson; his daughter-in-law Sarah; his granddaughter Katie of Greeley, Colorado; his son-in-law Lucas; his grandchildren, Everett, Linnea and Lillia of Clarkdale, Arizona; and his siblings, Larry Burd (Chris) of Grand Forks, ND, Lana Wolf (Bill) of West Point, NE, Rod Burd (Donna) of Lubbock, TX, Lori Bolin (Steve) of Burlington, CO and Russ Burd (Joanne) of Arlington, VA.. He is also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews and fifteen great nieces and nephews.
