He was predeceased by: his wife Kathleen Eberhardt. He is survived by: his sisters, Donna Olson of Brush Colorado and June Maupin of Brush Colorado; and his children, Catherine Vigil (Eberhardt), Lawrence Keith Eberhardt, Matthew Nicholas Eberhardt and John Hurd.

In his later years, he became a champion for Alzheimer's research after his wife Kathleen passed away from early onset of the disease.
