He was predeceased by: his parents, Ramona Atencio and Miqueas Atencio; and his siblings, Mary Black, Ruth Lynch, Frances Maag, Roberto and Fred Atencio.
He is survived by: his wife Roberta (Montoya); his children, Tonya Mayberry (George), Joaquin and Mike; his grandsons, George Mayberry III (Morgan), Isiah and Lawrence Mayberry; his great grandchildren, Mila, George IV and Ryatt Mayberry; and his siblings, Stella Brinkman (John), Susan Eisenberger, LaVerne Pulliam (Otis) and Alfonso Atencio (Rose). He is also survived by numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews.
