He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Brown and William Brown; his wife Alberta Hickman; his daughters, Cheryl Orris and Kellie Hadden; his sister Virginia Gilley; and his grandson John Hall.

He is survived by: his children, Glinda Phares (Sam), Marla Segebartt (Gary), Sherry Hall (Jeff) and Terry Brown (Linda); his sister Betty Volker; his sons-in-law, David Hadden and Randy Orris; and his friend Mike Moat. He is also survived by numerous extended family members; many 'adopted' children.
