He was predeceased by: his parents, Charley Parnell and Charlcye Parnell; his son Michael; and his sister Margie Garner. He is survived by: his wife Mary Bearden; his daughter Laura Barthol (Todd); his grandchildren, Heidi and Erik; his sister Ida Clark; his niece Gayla Rogers (Carl); and his nephew David Wilkinson. He is also survived by many other extended family and wonderful friends.
