With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Richard Ortiz of Denver, Colorado, born in Holly, Colorado, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Mauso and Ceferina Deloris "Lola" Ortiz (Vargas); and his grandsons, Prudencio Ortiz and Enzo Medina. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Fitch of Denver, CO; his children, Jeremy Ortiz (Crystal) of Thornton, CO, Racquel Medina (Adolfo) of Denver, CO and Amanda Ortiz of Las Vegas, NV; his grandchildren, Emmalena Ortiz, Richard Ortiz, Jasmine Ortiz and Xavier Ortiz; and his siblings, Linda Vargas of Denver, CO, Michael Ortiz of Bristol, CO, Barbara DeLaRosa (Ruben) of Granada, CO, Julian Ortiz of Denver, CO, Becky Castro of Lubbock, TX, Robert Ortiz (Juanita) of Sacramento, CA, James Ortiz (Eva) of Lamar, CO, Eugene Ortiz (Donna) of Lawrenceburg, IN, Evelyn Camacho (Javiel) of Uvalde, TX and Catherine Ortiz of Granada, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Peacock Family Chapel (209 S 4th St, Lamar, CO 81052). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church (101 S 6th St, Holly, CO 81047). A Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard Ortiz Memorial fund in care of the funeral home office.
