He was predeceased by: his son Robert Salazar; his siblings, George Salazar, Joe Salazar, Frank Salazar, Anthony Salazar, Tony Salazar, Margaret Standish (Salazar), Sarah Salazar and Jessie Salazar; and his former spouse Augustina Salazar (Romero).
He is survived by: his children, Rick Salazar, Carl Salazar, Pete Salazar Jr, Leona Romero (Salazar), Karen Smith (Salazar) and Rachel Thompson (Salazar); his sisters, Virginia Padilla (Salazar) and Bernice Hermosillo (Salazar); and his former spouse Gayle Salazar (Edwards). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
