He is survived by: his children, Debra Ann Smilley-Weiner (Martin) and John Dennis Smilley, Jr. (Debbie); his grandchildren, Christopher Weiner (Ashley), Andrew Weiner, Ian Smilley (Arrie) and Sean Smilley (Shayna); his former wife Merriam; and his brother Robert Smiley (Charlene). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
