He was predeceased by: his parents, Alcario Perea and Della Perea (Trujillo); his former wife Ida Perea; and his siblings, Steve Perea and Nettie Lovato.
He is survived by: his wife Emma Perea of Grand Junction, CO; his children, Linda Peter of Albany, OR, Jimmy Perea (Cherie) of Grand Junction, CO and Dotti Peralta of Grand Junction, CO; and his sister Tina Sandoval of Silt, CO. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
