He was predeceased by: his wife Maxine Updike; his parents, Guy Updike and Nina Updike; his siblings, Orville Updike, Vernon Updike and Ella Marquess; and his grandchildren, Aaron Lively and Brittney Hunt.
He is survived by: his children, Lowa Shultz (Clif), Marjorie Lucier (Stan), Lynn Updike (Brenda) and Tami Hunt (Dale); and his brother Marvin Updike of Grants Pass. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
