It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Edward Kastl of Cortez, Colorado, born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, who passed away on August 7, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold and Willa Mae Spybuck Tallchief; his stepfather Harry "Patch" Tallchief; and his brothers, Eves Tall Chief (Gary Kastl), Richard Kastl and John G. Tallchief.
He is survived by: his brother Bobby Tallchief (Rene); his son Scott Christopher Kastl (Thelma); and his granddaughters, Ashley Sheets (Joshua), Cynthia Harless (Dillon) and Victoria Kastl.
