It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vivian A. Appelhans of Commerce City, Colorado, who passed away on September 1, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Hammerschmidt and Pauline Hammerschmidt (Braun); her husband Ralph Appelhans; her siblings, Vera Hammerschmidt, Valerian Hammerschmidt and Virgil Hammerschmidt; and her siblings-in-law, Christie Hammerschmidt, Glenda Hammerschmidt and Kenny Dinkel.
She is survived by: her children, Allan Appelhans of Hoxie, Kansas, Beverly Appelhans of Colby, Kansas, Chris Appelhans (Lori) of Hays and Danny Appelhans (Missy Cogdill) of Friona, Texas; her siblings, Virginia Dinkel of Hays, Verlin Hammerschmidt of Victoria, Vinard Hammerschmidt (Renita) of Tennessee, Valery Hammerschmidt (Linda) of Victoria and Vernon Hammerschmidt of Victoria, Kansas; her grandsons, Cole Appelhans, Brett Appelhans Aubry Appelhans (Lydia Hynek) and Clayton Appelhans; and her great grandchildren, Owen Appelhans and Layla Appelhans. She is also survived by extended family; and many good friends.
