He was predeceased by: his brothers, Gilbert and Dick. He is survived by: his significant other Joyce A. Miller; his close friend Bill Martin; his children, Earl S. Lay, Randy W. Lay and Renita S. Henson; and his grandchildren, Amy Broda (Ryan), Mark Lay (Angela), Andrew Lay (Kristy), Brian Lay (Kerry) and Krisandra Walker (Jonathan).
