She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Lawrence Simms and Esther Simms of Sterling, CO; her brother Melvin; her husband Don; her children, Julie Motley (Kenneth) of Hudson, CO, Craig Shriver (Susan) of Sterling, CO and Wendy Gluckman (Sid) of Gainesville, FL.; her grandchildren, Landon, Ashley (Wyatt), Annika, Brittany and Jennifer (Cody); her great grandchildren, Cullen, Emma, Camden and Nolan; and her sister Genevieve Ramey (Simms).

“Jan's life change mine. She cared for my girls, Sarah and Rachel, while I finished my undergraduate degree at CU, Boulder. She was more than a nanny. She loved and cared for them as if they were her own. I never worried about them. Her devotion still overwhelms me. My family was so blessed by her presence during so many important years of our lives. One of my favorite memories of Jan was when Rachel was about 2, maybe 3, and she would take Jan's earrings out and put them back in over and over.”
