Barney Traynor wrote a sympathy message

“Psalm 116:15 “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones.” I met Mike at pilot training at Craig AFB in 1975. I came as an unsaved man, but through the efforts of Mike, Doug, Paul, Hogie and Mike C. I became a Christian. Mike was instrumental in my salvation and discipleship. As training went on Mike met Lorelei who later would become his wife. Also Doug met Cathy, Lorelei’s sister and married her. Good times. I’m praying for you as you grieve the loss of Mike.”

“I first met Mike and Lorelei (sp) at a Navigator's meeting at Ellsworth AFB in the late 1970s. He was passionate about the Lord even then. I ran into him again in the mid 1990s at Buckley ANG base still fighting the good fight and trying to help, especially military, people to know and follow the Lord. As Paul said, Mike fought the fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. It was my honor to know him. I send condolences to Lorelei and his family, friends, and co-workers. Herman Lovell”
