He was predeceased by: his mother Mollie Margulies; and his sister Evelyn Tappin. He is survived by: his father Joseph Margulies; his wife Rhoda; his children, Ira (Christine Best) and James; and his grandchildren, Alexandra (Adam Tropper), Joshua and Victoria.

Donations are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation.
