She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Thomas Hitt and Dora Mae Bode Hitt; and her brothers, Robert D. Hitt of Dennison, IA and Lee A. Hitt of Omaha, NE. She is survived by: her husband Ewing E. Ellis; and her siblings, Charles G. Hitt of Omaha, NE, Jacob C. Hitt of Greenfield, IA and MaryEllen Hitt Yarger of Massena, IA. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
