A Funeral Mass for George Warren Kimmes Jr, 73, of Highland Ranch, Colorado will be held on Friday, July 21 at 10:00am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Superior, Wisconsin. George’s ashes will be interred in his family burial plot in Calvary Cemetery in Superior following the mass.
George passed away peacefully and with grace on May 20, 2023. His calm, humble demeanor, and his decades-long jet setting career left him with many friends all over the United States. George managed a highly successful 40+ years in corporate aviation. He flew executives for companies including Geno’s Pizza, US West, Quest, CenturyLink, and Logistics. George’s integrity, honestly, and trustworthiness are a testament to his success.
George was preceded in death by his grandparents, John A. Cadigan and Anna-Roy B. Cadigan, his sister, Anne Louise Kimmes in 1978, and his mother, Mary Cadigan Kimmes in 2005.
George will be deeply missed by his many friends, along with his three sisters whom he loved dearly: Mary B.K. Broaddus (Tilghman) of Mechanicsville, VA, Laura L. Kimmes of Cotton, Minnesota, and Jane C. Kimmes of Houston, Texas. Each sister loves George to the depth of their hearts. Also cherishing his memory are his three nieces, great nephews, and great nieces; Amy K. Wikstrom, Boston MA; Sara B. Spaeth (Tim), Jacob, Zach and Veronica, in Redondo Beach, CA; Jessica L. Davis, Bridget, Luke and Josie, Tappahannock, VA. George’s stepdaughter, Jennifer A. Olson, Lakeville, Minnesota will miss George as well.
George generously donated his body for the greater good and to help future generations through medical research and education.
A Celebration of George’s Life will be held at Broomfield Airport (11870 Airport Way) in on Wednesday, July 19, at 10:00am for George’s family and friends. From there, George’s Sisters will inter his ashes at St. Calvary Cemetery.
